How to use the map

Zoom in to see all wells on the map.

Click a well for details and to open the well record.

Select “Search current map display only” to limit results to the area shown on the map.

Use the legend to turn lots and concessions on or off.

Search by address, coordinates or your current location

To use your current location, turn on location services in your browser and device settings.

Search by well record information

Well record searches require at least 1 of the following fields to be filled out.

You can search by a date range. Enter both “From” and “Until” to find wells completed between those dates. Enter only “From” to find wells completed after that date, or only “Until” to find wells completed before that date. 
Year is required, month and day are optional.
Well depth (metres)100.1 to 101Well depth searches use a range. If you enter both values, the search returns wells with depths between those values. If you enter only the first value, it returns wells deeper than that depth. If you enter only the last value, it returns wells shallower than that depth.

Search by custom area

Click “Draw custom area” on map. Click on the map to draw your area. Each click adds a point and lets you change direction.

When you are finished, double‑click or press “Enter” to complete the area, then click “Search” to view results.

Searches return a maximum of 2,000 wells. If you draw a large area, only the first 2,000 wells will appear.

Search by township, lot and concession

Search for a geographic township, then enter the lot and concession. Lot and concession fields require prefixes such as “LOT” or “CON.”

Viewing results

View results on the map or table. The table shows results only after you run a search. Click a well on the map or table to open the well record.

Missing record

The map only includes wells that were reported to the ministry with sufficient information. A well record may be missing if it:

  • was not submitted
  • was incomplete or inaccurate
  • could not be linked to a specific location
  • is delayed or under review
